What an incredible way to finish out the season! Here's what happened in Week 8:
1. Classical guitarist and AMFS Artist-Faculty Sharon Isbin after her electric recital at Harris Concert Hall! We're always appreciative of what Sharon does for our organization and for the classical guitar world!
2. Pianist Marc-André Hamelin after his solo recital this past Thursday - performing works by Debussy, Chopin, and more!
3. AMFS Artist-Faculty Edgar Meyer (bass) trying to give praise to fellow colleague Amy Yang (piano) after their duo recital, but she gives the praise right back. Spoiler alert: they both deserve the highest level of praise!!!
4. Our Percussion Ensemble during their annual final recital. What a delight to hear some of the most unique instruments in the percussion world!
5. Still thinking about the amazing production of Mozart's The Magic Flute, led by our amazingly talented AOTVA students! 🎶
6. Beloved AMFS Artist-Faculty Anton Nel in an extremely rare solo recital. He's been with us for almost three decade, but this is his second-ever solo recital in Aspen!
7. Our composition students with our Aspen Contemporary Ensemble after their First Glimpse recital! They did such a great job presenting their new works, with feedback from their mentors. New music is always great for classical music!
8. Full house in the Tent, full house on stage, and full house on the risers! Still buzzing from our final performance of the season, with our Festival Orchestra performing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
9. Our extremely talented Artist-Faculty at their weekly Chamber Music recital. Our Week 8 Chamber Music featured TWO world premieres, including one by our President and CEO Alan Fletcher!
