As a third year mentor with Cohorts.Art, my focus is on helping each artist develop a deeper understanding of their individual practice while building a community where we can learn from, challenge, and support one another.
I work with artists making both sculptural work and functional pottery, drawing on my own broad experience across both disciplines. While everyone comes to the program with their own work, ideas, and goals, the cohort is also about learning from one another—creating a safe space where we can have meaningful conversations, challenge ideas, share perspectives, and support each other’s growth.
For more than 18 years, I have also operated an art gallery in Aspen, Colorado, working closely with artists, collectors, curators, designers, and people who are deeply engaged with the arts. That experience allows me to bring another perspective to our conversations: not only how you make and think about your work, but how that work communicates, how it exists within the broader cultural landscape, and how you navigate a professional life as an artist.
Throughout the program, my goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your practice and discover new ways of generating ideas and pushing your work forward.
Just as importantly, I want this cohort to become a community. By the end of our time together, my hope is that you leave not only with greater clarity and confidence in your work, but with a group of artists and friends you can continue to rely on emotionally, creatively, and professionally.
