We were there when it all began. ❤️

Back in 2016, MaRLo launched ALTITUDE and Trance Familia was right there with him. Our crew united, “Haunted” shirts on, MaRLo logos everywhere, surrounded by a crowd that genuinely supported him from the heart.

I still remember looking around and seeing what felt like an entire sea of ravers representing MaRLo. It wasn’t just another trance event. You could feel how much Australia believed in one of its own.

Fast forward 10 years and look at what ALTITUDE has become.

A decade of music. A decade of memories. A decade of unforgettable moments.

From being there at the beginning to watching this journey grow over the years, this one will always be special to us.

Happy 10 Years of ALTITUDE, MaRLo. ❤️

Okay, this one caught us off guard… Tiësto just went TECHNO 🔥

After teasing his remix of KUKO’s “Voicemail” in his sets all year, Tiësto has finally dropped it, and this one hits different 📞⚡

Two generations. Two different worlds of electronic music coming together in one track.

Love seeing Tiësto still experimenting, evolving and keeping us guessing after all these years ❤️

Old school Tiësto fans, what are we saying about this one? 👀🔥

The Gregorian chant you hear underneath this track was never a sample. It was actually a real choir recorded inside a real church, and believe it or not, they did it because it was cheaper.

Bill Leeb later explained that hiring around thirty singers, renting a church in West Vancouver, taking all the equipment there and recording everything live still worked out cheaper than paying for the rights to sample an existing recording.

That is how Delerium worked. Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber came from an industrial music background and spent almost a year putting together the album Karma.

Then came Sarah McLachlan. She sang and co wrote Silence, and the original version released in 1999 was nothing like the trance anthem most of us know today. It was slow, atmospheric and spacious. It was never really made for the clubs.

Then in May 2000, Tiësto got his hands on it.

He completely transformed the track and turned it into something that would become part of trance history.

His In Search of Sunrise remix was originally released through the small Belgian label Yeti before Nettwerk picked it up. Years later, Mixmag readers voted it the 12th greatest dance record of all time.

And Silence never really disappeared.

Airscape, Above & Beyond, Michael Woods, Filterheadz and more recently John Summit have all put their own touch on it. There are now more than a hundred different versions across vinyl, CD and digital releases.

Twenty six years later, that vocal still gives you goosebumps.

And behind one of the most iconic vocals in trance history is a choir that was originally hired because it was the cheaper option.

Which version of Silence will always be the one for you?

This one still hits like it’s 2001. 🥹✨

4 Strings Take Me Away (Into the Night) remains one of those vocal trance records that instantly transports you back to the golden era of trance.

That melody. Those vocals. That unmistakable early 2000s energy. More than two decades later, it STILL gives you chills. 🔥

Trance family, where were you when you first heard this one? 👇

A classic that still sounds MASSIVE today. Tiësto made music that didn’t just define an era, it survived it. 🔥

And with the Tiësto trance chapter is back stronger than ever, arenas are going off and records are being broken. Decades later and the legend is still showing everyone how it’s done. 🐐

Johan Gielen at Trance Energy 2002. ❤️

This is what trance felt like when it ruled the dancefloor.

The music, the lasers, the energy, thousands of people lost in the same moment — no phones, no distractions, just pure trance.

Watching this takes you straight back to an era when trance wasn’t nostalgia… it was the present.

Some moments disappear. Some sounds stay with you forever.

The golden era of trance. ❤️
