That’s a wrap on the 2025-2026 season! We had a wonderful year-end potluck picnic on Sunday to celebrate this season and look ahead to the next! Thank you to all of our musicians and board members for attending and sharing in the food and fun!

We also got to meet the 4 newest junior LSO members ranging from 4 weeks(!) to 10 months old! 😍🎶❤️

LSO Milestone! Congratulations to violinist Lillian Liao who just finished her residency in anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School! She will be working as an attending at Newton-Wellesley Hospital next year which means continuing to play with the LSO. Woohoo! 🎉❤️🎓

Fun fact: Lily’s training also included operating with fellow LSO violinist Dr. Terry Buchmiller!

Another LSO Milestone! Congratulations to our fearless concertmaster, Stacie Lin, on completing her PhD in Immunology at Harvard! Shoutout to Louis 🐈‍⬛ for his support along the way! Stacie was also one of our featured soloists this year the day after(!) successfully defending her dissertation in March. She is continuing on with the remaining MD portion of her MD-PhD training which has included operating with another star in the violin section, Terry Buchmiller! Go Stacie!

This week we are celebrating 2026 LSO Milestones starting with violist Liz Dorans! Liz just finished her PhD at Harvard Medical School in Genetic and Genomics! Congratulations, Liz!!

Music Director Jotaro Nakano is at the League of American Orchestras Conference this week to speak about his research as part of a panel entitled “Orchestras in Health and Well-Being, from Intention to Practice.” Having previously served as the Peabody Arts in Health Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Hospital while a doctoral candidate with Marin Alsop at Peabody Conservatory, it’s also a chance to reconnect with colleagues in Baltimore! If you are there, be sure to say hello!

We were honored to provide musical support in Wednesday for the annual B*H memorial service, A Time to Remember. Thank you to our friends at the hospital bereavement and music therapy programs for inviting us to be part of this beautiful gathering of families and staff to remember the deeply loved children who have died.

Thanks to Rich, Lily, Stacie, Jay, John, Hannah, and Chengcheng for playing and to Joanna Bereaud for the photos.
