A new era begins. 🎶

On September 20, internationally acclaimed conductor Marc Minkowski takes the podium for his inaugural concert as Boston Baroque’s Music Director.

Experience Haydn’s "The Seasons" as the natural world bursts to life through thunderstorms, birdsong, blazing summer heat, the autumn harvest, and winter’s chill. Marc leads Boston Baroque’s period-instrument orchestra and chorus alongside soloists Lauren Snouffer, Andrew Turner, and Brandon Cedel.

Our 2026/27 season marks Marc Minkowski’s first as Music Director, following more than five decades of artistic leadership by founder Martin Pearlman. A new era begins. 🎼

Marc Minkowski steps onto the podium as Boston Baroque’s Music Director for the very first time, and he’s opening with one of Haydn’s most joyful, sweeping masterworks: The Seasons (Die Jahreszeiten).

From spring’s thaw to winter’s quiet wisdom, this one-day-only performance traces a full year of life, love, and nature through Haydn’s most vivid storytelling, thunderstorms, birdsong, harvest dances and all.

It is especially meaningful to bring this extraordinary ensemble to Chesterwood, where music, history, and art come together in such a beautiful setting.
