This Saturday, join us to learn from Kara Perpelitz () in SCC Gallery! She will lead a discussion and demonstration of fibre art processes using stinging nettles, from harvesting to weaving. The Gallery + Shop are open 11 am to 5 pm, and this demonstration will be held from 2 to 4.

Did you know we’re hosting fibre art demos every Saturday during our exhibition Prairie Fibre – Full Circles? This weekend, join us to learn from artist Diana Bekkaoui!

🌱 Saturday, February 7, 2 – 4 pm

In SCC Gallery, Diana Bekkaoui (candidate master spinner, Olds College Master Spinners Program) will lead a drop-in discussion and demonstration of spinning several varieties of flax. See the way that flax fibres are processed into linen!

SCC Shop + Gallery are open Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. Demos are every Saturday afternoon throughout the show: saskcraftcouncil.org/fibre-art-demos

Come on out (or in out of the cold!) and meet some of our guild members while you check out the awesome fibre art!

This Saturday is the first day of our new exhibition, Prairie Fibre – Full Circles, and SCC Shop + Gallery will be open 11 am to 5 pm. Meanwhile, Winterruption SK is hosting a day of family-friendly activities nearby at W.E. Graham Park and Cosmo Hall.

In our space, artist Jude Haraldson and other members from Saskatoon Spinners and Weavers Guild will be leading a free yarn spinning activity to educate art lovers of all ages about the process of making textile art! We will also have colouring pages available by Anna Hunter and Sam Bradd for the kiddos. Drop in between noon and 4 pm to warm up, try your hand at spinning, view this awesome exhibition, and colour a masterpiece πŸ§ΆπŸ–οΈ
