Great news Friday as we enter our final weekend for DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA — which you still have time to experience if you haven’t!
Jobsite is incredibly honored to share that we’ve been awarded a Shubert Foundation grant! They are America’s largest funder dedicated to supporting professional nonprofit theatre and dance organizations — this is a big get.
This award is *significant* national recognition of our quality professional programming, our administrative and fiscal rigor, and Jobsite’s overall contributions to the American theater.
The Shubert Foundation has invested well over 700 million in professional theater and dance nationwide over the years, helping sustain many of our country’s most venerable institutions.
This grant is especially meaningful during a time of incredible financial turmoil in our industry. With a lack of state funding going on three years and a number of other contributing factors making our operations more challenging than ever, this great news comes at a great time. We sincerely hope this prestigious national recognition helps Jobsite attract more funding from other sources — we still rely on ticket sales alone for some 85% of our operating budget. This is hopefully the beginning of a long partnership with Shubert, and we look forward to what the future holds.
As we look toward our third decade (!) of creating exciting, engaging professional live theater in Tampa, we can’t thank you all enough for your continued support — and of course we are oh so grateful to the Shubert Foundation for the recognition and funding.
