As MAD Theatre of Tampa prepares to open *Come From Away*, we're reminded of the incredible true story that inspired the show.

When thousands of airline passengers found themselves unexpectedly stranded in Newfoundland after September 11, an entire community opened its doors, hearts, and homes to complete strangers.

It's a story about kindness.
It's a story about community.
And it's a story that feels just as meaningful today.

That's why we're proud to be hosting a fundraiser benefiting MAD Theatre of Tampa's production of *Come From Away*.

❤️ 100% of the proceeds from fundraiser purchases go directly back to MAD Theatre of Tampa to support local theatre and the arts in our community.

🍁 What happens when 7,000 stranded airline passengers arrive in a small town of 9,000 people?

They discover kindness.

COME FROM AWAY tells the remarkable true story of the people of Gander, Newfoundland, who opened their hearts, homes, and community to complete strangers in the days following September 11, 2001. It is a story of compassion, resilience, friendship, and the extraordinary things that can happen when people come together.

From June 11 through June 28, MAD Theatre of Tampa invites you to experience this powerful and uplifting production.

🎭 Performances run Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

🎟️ Tickets are available through the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

To help support this production, we've partnered with Making Scents with Marcus & Geo for a special fundraising event.

We’re getting SO close to opening night for COME FROM AWAY at MAD Theatre, and we cannot wait to share this beautiful, powerful, and deeply human story with Tampa Bay.

This Tony Award-winning musical tells the incredible true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed the world with open arms in the days following 9/11. It’s funny, emotional, uplifting, and one of the most moving shows ever written.
