And finally, the moment y’all waited for.. We have our fantastic STPB President, Melanie!

Like many of our other members, Melanie did theatre in highschool and alongside marketing, she wanted to pursue it as a career. Going into the program and seeing so many different passion projects, she felt so inspired to follow in those footsteps and help this program achieve the success it deserves! She loves hearing others ideas and is determined to live up to our mission statement, which is encouraging others to hone their craft. She loves this community and she’s making her last year count!

Guys, guess what.. We have TWO vice presidents!! Onto our other beautiful VP, Kaitlin!

Right off the bat, Kaitlin was incredibly involved with STPB in her freshman year. She attended many of our events, and participated in our staged readings— starring as God in the play Quieter Than Fireworks. Shortly after, she was cast as Logan in the improv project called Work in Progress. That event is really what got her gears moving for ideas this school year for STPB. She is so incredibly excited to be a part of the group and share her creativity!

Now we get to one of our amazing Vice Presidents, Lily!!

In her freshman year, Lily was already incredibly involved in STPB as a general board member, helping out wherever she could, while also being in Machinal and later on, the staged reading Stretched Too Thin. She’s an incredibly dedicated person who just wants to see everyone succeed, and we are so excited to have her on board with our team!!

We move onto our amazing STPB secretary, Samantha!

Samantha’s been doing theatre since highschool, and despite not majoring in it, she is still so incredibly involved in the theatre space. She was in USF’s production of Machinal, giving an excellent performance. She’s a writer herself, creating her own staged reading titled Stretched Too Thin. She is planning another staged reading for Spring 2027 and has been writing several pieces over the summer. She’s incredibly excited for the future events and projects of STPB!

Onto our beautiful STPB Treasurer, Tehut Worku!

Being a communication major and theatre minor, she wanted to find a way to be involved in our theatre community outside of the main stage productions… That’s where she found the staged readings last Spring and fell in love with the community we had. She’s excited to get this ball rolling with our upcoming events!

Our next STPB member is our lovely Historian, Alexis Andriesse!

When she switched to an Elementary Education Major, a part of her still wanted to be involved in the theatre.. What better way than to be involved in the student theatre production board? She’s an expert with her photography, she has such an eye for all the beautiful things in life! She looks forward to photographing every activity we have and promoting the club to others so they can still pursue a passion in the arts!

It’s that time of the year where we introduce our STPB Board Members! ✨

Starting off with a bang, we have our social media manager, Jett Morales!

STPB has given Jett many opportunities to explore where her talents could be placed, especially the staged readings. She was most recently in the staged reading Stretched Too Thin, directed by Samantha Bollinger.

She is very excited to promote this club, its events, and what every member has to bring in store! Go STPB!

A little rehearsal photo dump as an appetizer for this weekend’s feast😌

The lovely , who plays Logan in STPB’s Work In Progress, took some photos to document the rehearsal process, so we sprinkled some previously taken photos of her as well :)

Tomorrow is opening night of Work In Progress at 7pm. You won’t want to miss it! Come support!!

A word from the director:

Work in progress is a bit more of a project than a play. Since I joined USF theater, I’ve always wanted to create something truly collaborative with my peers. Now, as I graduate, I hope to do just that! Drawing on the ideas of Commedia dell’arte, I have created 5 stock characters with needs, wants, etc. I’ve come up with the set and setting, and now I want to see what y’all can do with them. The plan is to create a semi-devised long-form improv show exploring these characters and the relationships they have with each other. We won’t have a script to work off; what happens to these characters could change from one night to the next. My goal as the director is to help you discover who these people are and guide you to a place where you feel comfortable creating their stories.

Come watch Work In Progress tomorrow at 7pm in TAR 120! And, while you’re at it, bring your friends!
