Students at USF are given the opportunity to hone their theatre craft in a judgment-free atmosphere where they are given the responsibility of ultimate artistic judgment in their endeavors. A little rehearsal photo dump as an appetizer for this weekend’s feast😌

The lovely , who plays Logan in STPB’s Work In Progress, took some photos to document the rehearsal process, so we sprinkled some previously taken photos of her as well :)

Tomorrow is opening night of Work In Progress at 7pm. You won’t want to miss it! Come support!!

A word from the director:

Work in progress is a bit more of a project than a play. Since I joined USF theater, I’ve always wanted to create something truly collaborative with my peers. Now, as I graduate, I hope to do just that! Drawing on the ideas of Commedia dell’arte, I have created 5 stock characters with needs, wants, etc. I’ve come up with the set and setting, and now I want to see what y’all can do with them. The plan is to create a semi-devised long-form improv show exploring these characters and the relationships they have with each other. We won’t have a script to work off; what happens to these characters could change from one night to the next. My goal as the director is to help you discover who these people are and guide you to a place where you feel comfortable creating their stories.

Come watch Work In Progress tomorrow at 7pm in TAR 120! And, while you’re at it, bring your friends!

The play is inspired by a true story, following Samantha and Brooklyn, two young women battling eating disorders while in treatment. As both protagonists and antagonists in their own journeys, they struggle against the relentless voices in their minds that convince them food is the enemy. The turning point comes when their deteriorating health demands urgent medical intervention, underscoring the life-threatening reality of eating disorders. In the end, Samantha chooses recovery and finds purpose in sharing her story—this very play—with the hope of inspiring others to do the same.
