Looking for something to do this Juneteenth? We are open today from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm!

Plus, the excitement continues into the weekend as we celebrate dads this Sunday with free admission courtesy of the Highland Street Foundation.

It's not easy being a dad today. Take it from Lucky, our rescued Mallard, who recently became a father to 8 ducklings, with 11 more on the way! While we may not be able to reduce the responsibilities of fatherhood, we can at least celebrate with a free visit to the Zoo.

Join us Sunday, June 21, for Free Admission Day for all visitors. We're open 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Stop by the beaver pond and say hello to Lucky while you're here!

It's Veterinary Appreciation Day, and we're proud to have one of the best care teams in the area!

From broken wings to sick fish, and everything in between, our team serves as the first responders for our BPZOO residents, providing incredible empathy, expert care, and advocacy. Just this week, they examined Ava, our 14-year-old female Goeldi's monkey, and her checkup went great!

We are incredibly lucky to have this team. Happy Veterinarian Appreciation Day to Dr. Emmy Budas DVM and Veterinarian Tech Jill Hudon, CVT!

Two months later, Daphne’s ducklings are almost ready to spread their wings!

Daphne and Lucky’s little ones are almost officially ready to venture out and live their mallard lives to the fullest.

Just in time, too! Daphne already has another 11 eggs to incubate! Keep an eye out for a whole new batch of little mallards in the next month or so.

Good morning from Grenadine and Maple!

Our Guinea hogs are ready for this weekend's Free Admission Day this Sunday, June 14. All guests can enjoy BPZOO with free admission tomorrow, thanks to the City of New Bedford Police Department (Official)

Metal bugs have landed in the park!

DATMA latest public art installation, "Bug Out," features large, colorful bug sculptures created by 40 Metal Fabrication students from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School during the past school year.

You can find these charming critters at the Zoo's front gate and throughout the pathways of the park leading to the Zoo. Look up at the lamp posts in the park during your next visit.

These student-made bugs are so fun, and we're so excited to be part of this project. The art installation is free to the public to view!
