This AHA! Night (June 11), step under the whale bones at the New Bedford Whaling Museum for a Balance & Swing Contradance presented by Epic Southcoast!

Featuring live traditional music and guided community dancing, the evening is open to all ages, backgrounds, identities, and experience levels. Caller Paul Wilde will guide you through every move. No dance experience or partner needed!

Free museum admission and a family-friendly whale scavenger hunt are available from 4–5 PM.

This AHA! Night (June 11), Centre Street Jazz returns under the Jazz Mural with The Dirty Martinis!

Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Les Sampou, the band delivers a high-energy blend of jazz, blues, soul, and vintage pop — from sultry ballads to upbeat crowd favorites.

Enjoy sets at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM.

Join FHC for live music from Sharks Come Cruisin, fisherpoetry by Moe Bowstern, cake, and free admission. Join the celebration of the center's work to recognize the fishing heritage that built this city.

This AHA! Night (June 11), the New Bedford Art Museum celebrates with film, two brand new exhibition openings, and free admission from 5–8 PM!

🖼️ "Synergies: Hybrid Art" is a juried exhibition of 20 artists working in all media. This exhibition highlights work that merges artistic disciplines, materials, and technologies to create innovative forms of expression.

🖼️ "Vanishing Ecologies: Speculative Futures" explores artistic responses to climate change and the Anthropocene through painting, sculpture, installation, and time-based media. The exhibition imagines possible futures while examining resilience, ecological change, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

📽️ Then at 8 PM, enjoy a free screening of the film "Peter Hujar's Day" (Ira Sachs, 2025), starring Ben Whishaw and Rebecca Hall, and presented by Professor Mocha. The film reimagines a real 1974 conversation between photographer Peter Hujar and writer Linda Rosenkrantz, offering an intimate glimpse into New York’s downtown art scene and the life of a fiercely uncompromising artist.

This AHA! Night (June 11), Upper William Street transforms into the annual Pride Block Party! Festive and expressive Pride dress encouraged. Radically inclusive and open to ALL!

🏳️‍🌈 From 5-8 PM, join over 30 craft vendors and community partners, grab something from food trucks Sorbae Frozen Treats and Round the Bend Farm, enjoy a mocktail bar by The Gallery Bar NB, watch aerial arts by Aerialicious Entertainment, and catch live DJ sets by Wamptronica. Wicked Q***r Puppet Theater brings their signature performance shenanigans, and the YMCA Southcoast Family Fun Area keeps it festive for all ages.

🏳️‍🌈 From 6–8 PM at Steeple Playhouse, catch a drag show featuring Queens of the South Coast, hosted by Crystal Diamonds and Phlegm Mignon — dedicated to Danny "Ultima" Sallom. Then dance the night away with New Moon Dance Party from 8–9 PM.

🏳️‍🌈 Meanwhile at Gallery X: Art exhibitions "Q***r Futures" and "Soul Clap" open at 5 PM, followed by "Time Capsule" by Wicked Q***r Puppet Theatre at 7 PM.

🏳️‍🌈 Then head over to Bento's for the after party with DJ Big Chan, beginning at 8:30 PM.
