From the first entrance to the final bow of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", you brought magic to Boston and helped us celebrate 30 years of Free Shakespeare on the Common.

While our production team does not make this decision lightly, due to the extreme heat, today's 1:30pm performance (8/9) of A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been cancelled. We are so disappointed that we could not share the show with you this afternoon, but must prioritize the safety of our entire community.

We WILL have our performance this evening at 8PM, and hope you can join us then.

Joining us for our 1:30 PM Matinee of Shakespeare on the Common?
Come prepared for the summer heat!
🧴 Bring sunscreen & reapply every 2 hours
💧 Pack plenty of water (with electrolytes) and low-protein snacks
🧢 Wear a hat & light, breathable clothing
☂️ Bring a sun umbrella for extra shade before the show
🕶️ Don’t forget your sunglasses
🌳 Take breaks in the shade
