Day three: a big one! A final farewell!

Yesterday we spent the morning at Ash Lee Jefferson, the former elementary school of one of our participants. Then we headed to downtown Halifax to get ready for our evening performance at Danspace!

We are so impressed with the Young Company. They’ve shown just an amazing level of positivity, hard work, and mutual support of each other. It feels so special to watch youth share their art with the young kids.

A huge thank you to the Adventure Earth Centre for making this program possible.

Day two of tour: Bedford South Elementary School!

We had two great audiences today for Alfie’s Wish and had a blast doing our show. A huge thank you to Mr. M and the rest of the school team for a warm welcome.

Our young company program is done in partnership with the Adventure Earth Center.

That’s day one of tour in the books!

Thank you to Admiral Westphal and Mr. Erik for hosting our teen production, Alfie’s Wish!

Alfie’s Wish is an adventurous tale about overcoming fear for grades P-3. The show was created by our young company through a devised theatre process. This means we worked together to create the characters and the story. Thank you so much to the Adventure Earth Center for hosting this program over the last year. We love getting to work with these amazing youth.

⭐️ While We Wait Won Outstanding Independent Production at this year’s Merritt Awards! ⭐️

Deep gratitude to Theatre Nova Scotia and the jury for recognizing the value of children’s theatre. This show was a real dream to make and we were able to do it with some of the best people. Thank you for the most perfect musical accompaniment, creating and bringing life to our puppets, for choreographing the strawberry disco dance of our dreams, .cornfield for colouring our seasons with the loveliest lighting design, for nurturing along this play from acorn to oak with you dramatical guidance, and for being a most generous collaborator.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Sketchbook Time Machine last night at ! And a huge thanks to our readers, , , , and Reed! And to .roozila for accompanying us all with gorgeous music.

It was a great pleasure to be residents on the sketchbook library and to be supported so intentionally by Heather and Kaya at Wonder’neath. They are amazing.

Sunday’s Spring Fling Afternoon Tea Fundraiser was a great success. With the support of our tea drinkers, we raised $1,876 for Gale Force youth programs!
