This week we started our Kid’s Wheel Throwing class. Going into it I was trying to think how to keep kids interested for four weeks. The answer came in a photo a friend texted me. He and his daughters had painted milk and Cookie Monster mugs at a shop local to them. So I decided that in our class we would spend four weeks creating our own milk and monster mugs! Weeks one and two we’ll throw the pieces, attach them together and add a handle. Week three we’ll be making our monsters’ faces and cutting their mouths. And on the fourth week we’ll be glazing them! This way these kiddos will learn multiple techniques outside of throwing and will hopefully come away with some awesome mugs! Pictured is the weird little monster mug I made. Currently fully obsessed with this little weirdo.
