Oglebay Institute's Towngate Theatre & Cinema presents “Dark of the Moon” by Howard Richardson
🌒🌓🌔🌕
Based on the haunting Scottish folk song “The Ballad of Barbara Allen,” this earthy and imaginative Broadway hit – a unique blend of Appalachian storytelling and gothic spiritualism – takes place in a Smoky Mountain community, where a strange “witch boy” falls in love with a beautiful human girl, raising anger and fear among their superstitious neighbors.

✨That’s a wrap on our 2026 Parcel Players Season at Oglebay Institute's Towngate Theatre & Cinema✨

A huge congrats to the cast and crews of 🕸️O, What a Tangled Web🕸️, 🌊 And Then We Washed Ashore and Found Ourselves Here🌊, and 🎲 Guys and Dolls🎲!! We hope to see you again for another season and our children’s theatre opportunities!! Take all your experience back to your school theatre programs!

We would also like to thank all in attendance at the shows! You make it possible for these young actors to perform in comedic farces, poetic dramas, and big musicals! If you had a wonderful experience you might want us to know about let us know in the comments below!!
