Congratulations to Time Arc Theatre owner Kathy Laakso for completing a successful grant application to support the "Strike for Dickie: The People vs. the Board of Education" play that will be shown next summer, in conjunction with the youth theatre camp. She was awarded $7,960. Great work!

Funding will support performance arts and educational opportunities.

This Friday, June 19, at 6 p.m., our Summer Youth Theatre Program presents "Born a Hero, Died a Hero" the story of WWII Ace Dick B**g in the 3rd floor Ballroom, 1401 Tower Avenue. Admission is free.

The play is the product of our Summer Youth Theatre Program during which the middle school-age kids research, write, and produce their own show. This year, our Time Arc set builder Ed Johnson gave them each a pair of safety glasses and showed them how to cut and put together a stage set wall.

Right now they are rehearsing their show with a dress rehearsal Thursday night.

If you have a chance, come out and watch their production. It's about a half hour long. They are excited to show it off to you!

I'm proud of them!

Thank you Josh Porter, Jon Pearson and Ed Johnson - and last year's graduate, Mickenzie Pfankuch for being an excellent assistant!

Our very good friends at Time Arc Theatre, LLC are offering a summer youth theater program for 5th-8th graders. If anyone has students interested in participating, please contact them. This is such a great program and we have gotten the inside scoop that this year the kids will be writing and performing an original play about our own Richard B**g!! We cannot wait to see it 😁
