Join Blue Rain Gallery and Glass Alliance-New Mexico for a special artist lecture featuring acclaimed glass artist Shelley Muzylowski Allen on Saturday, June 13th at 10:30 AM in Santa Fe.

Known for her evocative glass sculptures that honor the beauty, strength, and quiet presence of animals, Shelley Muzylowski Allen will discuss her artistic journey, introduction to glass, creative process, and the themes that shape her work. Originally trained as a painter, Allen discovered glass after being encouraged to explore the medium at Pilchuck Glass School, where her expressive visual language found a new dimension through translucency, texture, and form.

Her sculptures often incorporate rusted metals, hair, and painterly surfaces, seamlessly blending glass and painting into singular works of art that explore both stillness and movement in the natural world.
Shelley Muzylowski Allen is an internationally recognized, award-winning artist whose work is featured in major collections and exhibitions worldwide. She is the recipient of numerous honors, including the “Grand Artist of the Future” Award from the Imagine Museum and grants from the Canada Council and the Government of British Columbia.

The lecture will last approximately one hour and include a 15-minute audience Q&A.
