Manitou Galleries is located just one block off the plaza in downtown Santa Fe, in the West Palace Arts District between the New Mexico Museum of Art and the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. The gallery offers one of the finest collections of contemporary representational paintings, sculpture, prints, glass, and fine jewelry, and our experienced and knowledgeable staff is always friendly and accommodating

Manitou has established a credible reputation as a landmark in Santa Fe known for exquisite fine art, and is currently exhibiting approximately 40 exceptional artists, mostly of the southwestern region. Manitou Art Brokers is a showcase for an ever-changing selection of Western and Native American collectibles including beadwork, jewelry and rugs, as well as Western art from notable artists including J.S. We are always interested in consigning or purchasing fine works of art by important Taos, Santa Fe, Western, wildlife, or contemporary artists. Manitou hosts lively openings every first Friday of the month in conjunction with the West Palace Arts District's First Friday Art Walk. The openings feature live music on the patio in the summer and artists in attendance throughout the year. Gallery hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm seven days a week.

Our Weekend with Tracy and Sushe Felix is set to happen Friday & Saturday, September 18-19 from 11 am to 4pm each day. Tracy and Sushe are husband and wife painters who create playful and vibrant scenes depicting the landscapes and wildlife of the West. There truly is nothing like them.

Sacred Land, Endless Sky is our much-anticipated solo show with William Haskell. It opens at the gallery October 2nd with a special reception from 5-7PM.

This exhibition presents an artist deeply connected to the American Southwest while continuing to push his work into new territory. Known for his masterful drybrush technique, Haskell has built a celebrated career capturing the power of the West through sacred architecture, mesas, and sweeping skies that evoke both place and spirit. His work is rooted in the landscape and cultural depth of the region, blending realism with a bold contemporary vision.

First in the gallery and then in the studio. This is the newest arrival from Taos-based painter Jeff Cochran. This painting is titled The Rain and the Bird in the Sky and is 66 x 72." Jeff refers to this newly created style of painting as Contemporary Cubism.

"Ive been trying something new and it has felt great," Jeff tells us. "I've always enjoyed the Futurists and Orphism. This is my attempt at painting a Southwest landscape in a style that combines those two styles. I had a good time doing this and I am anxious to do some more."

FYI: Orphism is a style of painting pioneered by Robert Delaunay in the early 20th century in France that was characterized by bright colors and pure abstract shapes. The name came from French poet Guillaume Apollinaire as he connected it to Orpheus, the poet and musician from Greek mythology.

We have something very exciting to announce. On October 2nd, we open a One Man Show for William Haskell titled Sacred Land, Endless Sky. We will host a special reception for Bill on Friday, October 2nd where all the paintings he has created for this exhibition will be sold through a fixed price draw.
