I hate to do this but I’ve decided not to vendor for ABQ Art Walk tonight because the air quality index is at 390 out of 500 & it’s making my asthma & allergies awful. Ever since I vendored all day for the Albuquerque International Fest last Saturday I’ve started losing my voice & having dry coughing fits. The dust storms & spring winds all week have been making it worse. I can barely talk. My voice is so raspy & hoarse. I kept thinking I’d wake up better but sadly that hasn’t happened. I am so disappointed because I was really really really excited to land an official vendor spot for ABQ Art Walk. Hopefully I’ll still get an opportunity in the future & not seen as flaky or unreliable. This is the reality of being a survivor. I can go, go, go until all of a sudden I can’t anymore. It always feel sudden because I’m so used to dissociating & tuning out my own physical cues from my body. I have a 8 hr vendor market tomorrow too I haven’t decided yet if I’ll attend or not yet. I’ve considered pushing through for tomorrow’s event & wearing a mask, but I don’t know if that’s enough precaution or if it would be off putting to customers. It’s really frustrating working overtime for cool opportunities only to have my own self fail me. My default option is to push through no matter what & that’s how I operated for many years. But for the sake of my self & longevity I have to prioritize myself now. I am currently without health insurance & don’t have an inhaler. You can still purchase my books online on Amazon or order a signed copy through me mailed directly to you. I’ll keep you posted on my schedule tomorrow once I decide.Thank you for your support. I was chosen as an official vendor to sign & sell my poetry books at International Fest 2026 in Albuquerque NM Sat May 30th! This is a free event featuring a. concert by legendary rapper Twista I love his music so much 🎶 my first pimp played Twista alot but I refuse to let bad memories taint my favorite music, poetry helped me heal and release my baggage. I’m so honored to be a part of this community celebration 🥳📚 come buy one of my poetry books & say hi!
