Who knew that a simple, crumpled piece of paper could create such a visually complex piece? It is no easy task to replicate the light and shadow that make the paper look realistic, which is what makes it such a great project for our art students. You can see this piece and others like it on the 3rd Floor of Building 13, Dayton Campus.

As a survivor of sexual assault and abduction, Emily Wiethorn uses this body of photographs to speak her truth and feel the anger society says she must leave behind. “The Death of You and Me” is an examination of memory, suffering, and the effects of trauma as well as how one tells a story with no beginning, middle, or end.
These exhibitions are a part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View. This theme considers aspects of time and perspective in photography and film, and how these mediums shape our understanding of the world.
Come check out this piece and the rest of her exhibit in person! Her work is on display in the Works on Paper Gallery, located on the 4th Floor of Building 13. The show will be on display now through October 26, 2026.

A life drawing is a drawing of the human figure, traditionally n**e, from observation of a live model. The human figure is one of the most enduring themes in the visual arts, and the human figure can be the basis of portraiture, illustration, sculpture, medical illustration, and other fields. It is amazing that we have a whole course dedicated to just that here at Sinclair. This piece was made in ART 2216-2217 Life Drawing and Anatomy I & II.

Ruminating on themes of control, manipulation, and unquestioned social constructs, Katria Foster explores physical and mental aspects of the female perspective in “Domestic Affair.” While some images highlight a very specific memory, the ambiguity and mystery present throughout the photographs encourage viewers to insert their own narrative into her works.
These exhibitions are a part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View. This theme considers aspects of time and perspective in photography and film, and how these mediums shape our understanding of the world.
Come check out this piece and the rest of her exhibit in person! Her work is on display in the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery, located on the 4th Floor of Building 13. The show will be on display now through October 26, 2026.
