The fantastic costume design for “All at Once” is the joint effort of two talents—Lara Miller and Damon D. Green. Adding volume and shape, line and flow to the movement, these garments beautifully follow and further our working concept, Cubism.

With All at Once, TS Artistic Director Carrie Hanson returns to an animating question she first explored in 2005. Can we reveal multiple perspectives—all sides of the dancing body at once—as seen in Cubism, the 20th c. art movement?
This choreographic challenge drove invention and patterning as the dancers attempt an impossible unfolding of the three-dimensional body. All at Once, in collaboration with composer/percussionist Timothy Daisy, is increasingly dynamic and complex, both physically and sonically.

A new collaboration!
We’re delighted to have award-winning design firm, SPAN, working with us across our 25th Anniversary Year! Already they’ve brought their innovative and responsive approach to bear—the previous image for All at Once is their smart application of Cubist principles to our dance photography. In partnering with SPAN, we’re in great company; they’ve developed design for Intuit Art Museum, The Reader, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Manual Cinema, Kohler, and more. Special thanks to Bud Rodecker and Nick Butcher for their work with us.

Our Summer Soirée was a night to remember. Thanks to all who joined us for this garden party-and-performance! We loved sharing an early snippet of “All at Once”, our new collaboration with percussionist Tim Daisy, and especially with the backdrop of this gorgeous Evanston home and garden. We’re grateful to TS board member and host, Jules Hopkins, for making this magic possible, and to TS board member, Pedro Guerrero, for playing great tunes through the evening. “All at Once” is a Cubist-inspired full-length work for dance & percussion and will premiere at Studio5 in Evanston on October 16-18. Save the date!
