We’ve had a lot of new followers recently, so we thought we should finally introduce ourselves too:
Knowehead Sound System is a hand-built multi-genre sound system based in Glasgow, established in 2020 when the first sub was built during lockdown, stemming from a lifelong passion for music and high quality audio. It has now grown in size to a 10-box setup running heavy bass, punchy kicks, and crystal-clear highs. Co-founded by one half of Glasgow’s Shakara, genres can range through anything from afrobeat, funk, and disco, to house, techno, trance, jungle, D&B, or dubstep, however for this event we will of course be focusing on all things Reggae and paying tribute to the origins of sound system culture.

Crew consists of brothers, John and Ross, and lifelong friend Mike.

Three and half weeks to go - time to introduce our second guest soundsystem: !

Common Unity Sound System, founded in 2014 and run by Angus, delivers uplifting, conscious messages through deep dub music. With fifteen years of experience, Angus has supported renowned artists including Congo Natty, Mad Professor, and Mungo’s Hi Fi, while also hosting events that have helped bring underground dub culture to Newcastle. In recent years, the sound system has featured artists such as Kibir La Amlak, Ashanti Selah, and Amelia Harmony.

For this session, Angus is joined by new selector and long-time creative partner La Huevo, who will be sharing selections from her own collection, adding a fresh dynamic to the sound.

With a month to go and tickets moving nicely, we thought it was time to introduce our guests! First up, :

Mighty Oak is a roots and dub Reggae sound system and record label based in Scotland, and since its creation in 2008 the sound system has steadily grown in size and popularity. The speaker boxes are hand-built and have become known for their warm but clear sound. Helmed by Ben and Jofis, the sound has played extensively throughout the UK. Guests through the years have included Dougie Conscious, Lloydie Coxsone, Abashanti, Chazbo, Caya, UK Principal (rip) Marga and Sister Lexxy, and the sound has played alongside other sound systems such as Jah Lokko, Messenger, Operation, MessenJah, Roots Sensation, Downbeat Melody, Crucial Roots, Bushrocker and more. Playing in a traditional Jamaican style with one deck and a preamp, selections are a mix of Roots and Dub Reggae old and new, one away rarities, dubplates and in-house productions.

Better late than never, wishing everyone a Happy & healthy 2026!

Mid 2025 we started putting in a bit more effort to start putting ourselves out there as Sound System: new equipment, more box building & some branding.

We were really happy to be asked to power our first festival tent for and also had the great opportunity to power a .wax night at Strange Fields. 2025 was a great year for networking and building relationships throughout the scene and we’re thankful for all the love support & encouragement!

We have plans in motion for something special coming up this year which will be revealed when finalised…

Anyone who is interested in getting us involved, whether club nights, festivals, birthday celebrations, or anything that needs that BRRRRR… give us a shout, let’s make 2026 a memorable year ❤️
