Behind every great photobooth photo is a lot more than just pressing a button.
From the outside, it probably looks like we just turn up, plug the booth in and let it do its thing.
The reality is there's a lot more to it than that. With a photobooth, every photo is the final product.
Traditional event photographers can go through hundreds of images after the event, removing the blurry ones or the photos where someone blinked before delivering the final gallery. Every image from a photobooth prints instantly, so getting it right first time is everything.
That's why we spend so much time getting everything dialled in before an event. Camera settings, flash power, venue lighting, where the booth is positioned, even the height and colour of the ceiling can affect how the light bounces around the room. Every venue is different, so there's no one size fits all set up.
Last night's venue was a good example. The room was lit with pink and purple up lighting, and the ivory backdrop naturally picked up some of those colours. Getting the flash and camera settings just right meant we could still keep skin tones looking natural while working with the lighting that was already there.
No editing, no retouching. Just exactly as they came out of the booth. 📸
