The 8th Annual Halifax Salsa & Bachata Festival starts TODAY.

Three days. Three different experiences. One weekend celebrating music, dance, culture and community across Halifax.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13
Salsa by the Wave
📍 The Wave (Halifax waterfront)

The official kickoff to the festival. Start the weekend with Bachata and Salsa lessons, dance performances and a DJ social featuring Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14
Rumba Callejera
📍 Bedford Row (Downtown Halifax, right behind the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia)

The festival takes over the street.

Starting at 6:30 PM, come early for Bachata and Salsa lessons, food, vendors and the atmosphere of the festival. At 9:30 PM, enjoy a live performance from LOS-BANDA-LOS before Bedford Row transforms into a full Latin street party.

10 PM – 2 AM

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15
Rhythm & Soul Street Market & Block Party
📍 Bedford Row (Downtown Halifax, right behind the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia)

Start the evening at the Rhythm & Soul Street Market, supporting local businesses, exploring vendors and grabbing some food and drinks.

6:30 PM – Market Opens
7:30 PM – Salsa Lesson
8:30 PM – Dance Showcase
9:30 PM – Live Music with Son Latino

Then at 10:30 PM, Bedford Row transforms into a massive Afro-Caribbean and Latin block party with DJ Webber - EvolutionHD , Mr Jay & OFFICIAL 🆁🅸🅶🅶🆂 PAGE®️ until 2 AM.

Halifax’s Biggest Culture Night

Saturday, August 15th, we’re taking over the street.

Come through to Rhythm & Soul and spend the evening eating, shopping, dancing and enjoying everything the Halifax community has to offer.

The Street Market opens at 6:30pm, with local vendors, great food, salsa lessons and dance showcases throughout the evening.

Then the party gets bigger with live music from Son Latino, followed by DJ Webber, Mr. J & DJ Riggs bringing the best in Afro-Caribbean and Latin music.

What to Expect:
6:30pm – Market Opens
7:30pm – Salsa Lesson
8:30pm – Dance Showcase
9:30pm – Live Music with Son Latino

And we’re closing out Saturday with a Block Party in the street.

Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, DJ TonyD has become a familiar face in Halifax’s Latin community. He’ll be bringing an unforgettable mix of salsa, bachata, merengue, and Caribbean rhythms to keep Rumba Callejera moving all night long.

Known for reading the crowd, he believes the best sets are built around the dancers. Every song is chosen to keep the energy flowing and make everyone smile.
