More comedy coming your way at the Stratford Courthouse on Saturday, June 27.
Deaf Bridges builds a bridge between the Deaf and hearing worlds through comedy. It tells stories about sign language interpreting, teaching Auslan, Deaf culture, and connecting the community with hearing people.
Ben is a sign language interpreter and stand-up comedian. He tells jokes in English and in Auslan so you can see and hear him be funny at the same time.
In 2020 Ben was a RAW Comedy national finalist, where he performed a routine about sign language and growing up with a Deaf mum. Since then he has told more stories about being a sign language interpreter and growing up as a child of a deaf adult, and now has a show that has toured festivals and cities around Australia.
During the show Ben teaches elements of sign language to prepare for the Deaf revolution he is initiating.
Note that this show is not fully Auslan interpreted.
Doors open at 7 o’clock for a 7.30pm start.
