Week 17 in the Unreal Academy and Division 1 has gone from a three-way title fight to a four-way one. West London Blue and Mighty Greens both moved to 38 points, while South Park Cows - who slipped 1-0 at Shin Kickers - and Indie Kids United are level on 34. Four points cover the top four with thirteen games to play.

In Division 2, Alveley Wolves and Frenchy's Dons remain deadlocked on 38 while Trumpton notched a rare road mile - they're still yet to score away from home in nine attempts.

Meanwhile Richmond are 47 points in and looking like a different class to anything else in Division 3.

Week 23 in the European Elites brought a standout moment - Théo Bongonda's hat-trick fired Cardiff City to a stunning 4-2 win at Borussia Dortmund, three of his four goals arriving in a brutal 27-minute spell that left Jody Downey's side shell-shocked.

In the Supremos Cup, Nottingham Forest - a Division 4 club - knocked out Barcelona to reach the semi-finals.

The Division 1 title race is still very much alive, with five clubs covered by five points and eight games to play.

Week 6 delivered one of the results of the season so far in Division 1. Harrogate Town - eighth at kick-off, quietly building all season - put Liverpool to the sword 3-0 at Wetherby Road. Mayer scored twice inside the first half-hour and Saka added a third. Jeff Galdas's side are now one point off the top.

Meanwhile, Peterborough United dismantled Plymouth Argyle 4-1, a result that has scrambled the Division 1 table completely. There are now four clubs on ten points - Rangers, Nottingham Forest, Walsall and Norwich City - and none of them look like pulling clear any time soon.

Walsall also have a new manager. David Griffiths walked in and won 1-0 on his first day. Not a bad start. In Division 4, Chelsea and Hull City are level on fourteen points, and Gomis now has nine league goals in six games.

Six weeks in and the Legend of La Rochelle is finding its shape. Manchester City have broken clear at the top of Group 1 — six wins from six, 16 points, three clear of Cork City after Celtic handed Wayne Mullins's side their first defeat of the season.

In Group 3, Heart of Midlothian have climbed to the summit for the first time, moving above Port Vale on 14 points with four wins from five. And in what might be the highlight of the week — Torquay United beat Preston North End 2-0, with both goals coming from Haaland (66') and Ronaldo (69').

A quick update on Match Engine V2 - the full picture lands next Sunday in the monthly newsletter, but here's where things stand right now.

What's already working (not live yet): your decisions count for more, home advantage behaves properly, the pre-match predictions are landing in the low 90s for accuracy, and turn processing is dramatically faster behind the scenes - what used to take 3-5 minutes now takes around 5 seconds for the optimised sections.

The active problem: goals per match are running low - around 1.2 when it should be 1.8-2.4. The cause has been identified. The engine was treating defensive headcount as defensive strength, which structurally favoured the back line by about 1.5x. A fix went in this week - it now judges contests on per-player quality, not numbers. About to A/B test it.

Still to go: player-level moments (halfway through), commentary variety, smarter injury substitutions, and per-zone stats exposed properly. When all of that's done and there are no regressions against V1, it goes live.

Four goals, one man, one afternoon - Gerblansky of South Park Cows was unstoppable against Special Criminals in Week 16, and suddenly the Division 1 title race has three clubs within a single point of each other. West London Blue and Mighty Greens are level on 35, Kevin Haney's South Park Cows lurking just behind on 34.

In Division 2, Alveley Wolves and Frenchy's Dons are equally inseparable at the top.

Richmond march on in Division 3, now 13 clear.
