Looking back on our 2-day Portrait Painting Worshop held in December in Fish Hoek, we're reminded of what a fantastic experience it was!

We are now looking forward to our next workshop, where we'll be focusing on watercolour techniques and exploring a variety of subject matters. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow your skills.

Exciting News !!! New Watercolour Workshop by Marc Alexander - Book Now...
Join Marc Alexander for a two-day workshop exploring essential watercolour painting techniques, materials, and foundational principles. This workshop will cover the key fundamentals of watercolour painting, including colour mixing, washes, brush handling, tonal values, composition, and expressive mark-making.
Under Marc’s guidance, each participant will complete a finished artwork over the two days, working from a provided reference image. A variety of subject matter will be available, including landscapes, seascapes, portraiture, furry animals, flowers, and more. Participants are welcome to choose the subject matter they would most enjoy painting throughout the workshop.

A heartfelt thank you to the Iziko Learning Centre and all the staff who helped make the Alexander Art Academy’s 2026 showcase, The Living Cape: An Educational Exploration of Nature and Identity, such a success.

Held at Groot Constantia from 7 February to 27 March 2026, the exhibition featured over 200 artworks by 70 artists and students under the mentorship of Marc Alexander. The showcase celebrated the natural beauty, biodiversity, and cultural heritage of the Western Cape through painting, education, and live art demonstrations.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from visitors, students, and the wider community. For many students, this was their very first opportunity to exhibit their work publicly — a truly special milestone.

We look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership in the future!
