Celebrating 22 years in Scottsdale, The Marshall Gallery of Fine Art boasts a diverse collection of exceptional art! Hailed as their favorite gallery in Scottsdale, visitors come back year after year to purchase fine art in our stunning showroom, which more than 70 world-class artists call home. Some of the Gallery’s more notable artists include classical contemporary painters Kate Starling, Ron Richmond, Jared Hankins, and abstract masters Michael Lotenero and Joseph Maruska; world-class sculptors Scott Hartley, Bryon Draper, and Roberto Cardinale; and emerging artists Jon Wassom, Elena Golberg and Sandor. Not least among the Gallery’s claim to fame is its magnificent collection of art glass, including American masters and European exponents of the craft including Alexander Fekete and George Bucquet. The gallery features beautiful blown glass, gem-like cast glass, and intricately carved and worked glass. The gallery’s biennial glass invitational attracts top-tier artists who have exhibited in museums around the world.

The AWAE opening reception was a reminder of what happens when women are given the space to share not only their art, but the stories, experiences, and perspectives that shape it.

From thoughtful conversations between artists and attendees to the moments of discovery, connection, and mutual appreciation happening throughout the gallery, the evening was about so much more than the art on the walls. It was about the people, the stories, and the power of bringing them together.

A heartfelt thank you to our twelve incredible women artists for sharing a piece of yourselves with us, to everyone who joined us and took the time to engage in meaningful conversation, and to Bella Cozzens for providing the perfect live soundtrack to an unforgettable evening.

We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who made this event happen.

Meet the women shaping contemporary art at the 6th Annual Women’s Artist Exhibition at The Marshall Gallery. Discover their stories, experience their work, and join us in celebrating the artists who continue to expand the conversation.

Yes, Shari Lyon paints with beeswax.
Shari works in encaustic, one of the oldest forms of painting, using a mixture of beeswax and damar resin to create dreamy, ethereal works layered with photography, oil paint, pan-pastels, and ink. The process is part patience, part spontaneity and, as Shari describes it, a rare marriage of being in control and completely losing control.

Trees, abstracted landscapes and imagery of the divine feminine frequently find their way into her work, emerging through layers of wax and texture that simply cannot be fully captured in a photograph. These are works you really have to experience in person.

Shari’s work is held in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe and has been exhibited and published widely.

For Carol Estes, art is deeply connected to place, history, humanity, and the belief that our differences are something to respect, not erase. Raised in Oregon, Texas, and ultimately settling in New Mexico, her work carries the imprint of the places that shaped her.

Her commitment to community runs just as deep. After 20 years as President of Albuquerque’s ARTScrawl, Carol retired in 2023 and was honored as an Albuquerque Local Treasure for her contributions to the arts community.

Meet the women shaping contemporary art at the 6th Annual Women’s Artist Exhibition at The Marshall Gallery. Discover their stories, experience their work, and join us in celebrating the artists who continue to expand the conversation.

Having spent most of her life in the Southwest, artist Jessica Garett-Lawrence draws inspiration from the unparalleled light of Western landscapes. Her work explores the relationship between color and light, using fresh, expressive color to capture nature’s feeling and atmosphere.

Influenced by artists Emile Gruppe, Henry Hensche, and Josef Albers, Jessica continues to explore color as a powerful form of artistic expression, building on the discoveries of those who came before her.
