"Australian indie-rock outfit Rum Jungle return to North America off the back of a breakout global run that’s seen them sell out shows across the UK, Europe and at home, while steadily building a loyal international fanbase. Known for infectious guitar hooks, restless energy and emotionally honest songwriting, the band have quickly become one of the most compelling live acts. This headline tour lands alongside new music from their forthcoming sophomore album Marginalia, including recent singles “Coal Dust”, “What’s Next” and “Lowlife”. Written during a period of reflection, the new material sees Rum Jungle expanding their sound while holding onto the raw immediacy and sharp melodic instincts that first connected with fans. Renowned for their electric live shows, Rum Jungle blur the line between indie-rock urgency and singalong release, the kind of gig where the entire room moves as one. With momentum building across North America and a new chapter underway, this run marks their biggest headline tour in the region to date".

Grant-Lee Phillips at Velour Thursday November 5th!!! Tickets on sale this Friday 9/18 at 10:00am on 24tix.com
Whether your introduction to Grant-Lee Phillips was in the 90’s with his legendary band Grant Lee Buffalo, or from his extensive 25+ year/ 12 album solo career… or even from his beloved recurring roll as "the Town Troubadour” on The Gilmore Girls, you are in for a treat! This show will feature songs from his new album “In the Hour of Dust” (album description below), along with favorites from throughout his long career… Of course all delivered with his effortless charm and whimsy.

Anyone who knows me knows that Grant-Lee Phillips is one of my musical heroes, and that this has been a bucket list show.
As Velour’s 20 year anniversary year winds down, I thought, what better time to finally try and make this happen!

If you are a GLP fan, I’m asking for your help to spread the word. It’s been many years since he’s toured through Utah, and we just want to make sure that the word gets out to all of his local fanbase from past and present.

—Corey Fox

From Bio: This past year, Grant-Lee Phillips released his 12th solo album, the self-produced In the Hour of Dust. It’s a work that doesn’t shy away from the big themes of contemporary life. “The mood on this album is contemplative,” says Phillips, “trying to find meaning in an age of confusion, feeling your way through the blinding dust of unreality.” In the Hour of Dust is also a highly intimate affair; both in its musical presentation and the highly personal – often autobiographical – lyrics in the songs, all set, the songwriter admits, “against this larger discordant backdrop.” Reflects Phillips “I don't see songs of love and songs of protest as being so far apart, really. It’s all about recognizing the value of connection in a disconnected time.”

WHO WANTS TO PLAY VELOUR NEXT SATURDAY 9/19!!??

We’d been stalling to potentially book an exciting touring artist next Saturday, but that has now been pushed back a bit (Details coming soon!), but because of that, next Saturday 9/19 is now available!

With this being our busy season, any Fall/Winter date is very sought after, but especially our weekend dates! We are looking for promoters or bands (Ideally a proven Velour headliner) who can put together a solid 3-4 band lineup that collectively can draw 150+ people on the semi-short notice!

If interested and up for the challenge, please email [email protected] ASAP with the subject line “9/19 Opening"

Include links to online music, social media, and a contact phone number.

Feel free to tag your friends on social media, but direct all communication to [email protected] (Please don't send direct messages to our social media).

Thank you!
