Today at Provo Community Congregational United Church of Christ, Adrienne Rossetti shared a meaningful message about community, conflict, forgiveness, reconciliation, and the promise that Christ is present whenever we gather in love.

We were reminded that following Jesus is not a solitary journey. We need one another—for encouragement, honesty, prayer, grace, and support. Jesus calls us to approach conflict differently: not with gossip, avoidance, or the need to win, but with truth, love, listening, and a desire for healing whenever possible.

And through it all, Christ is present—not only in joyful worship, but also in the difficult conversations, the apologies, the forgiveness, and the work of restoring relationships.

As the hymn reminds us, “They Will Know We Are Christians by Our Love.”

Thank you, Adrienne, for sharing this thoughtful message with us today.

Join us next Sunday at 11:00 a.m. as we welcome Reverend Margaret Philip and hear the message she will share with our congregation. Come as you are. Bring your questions. Bring your story. Bring your whole self. There is a place for you here. All are welcome.

🙌 AMEN TO THAT! | Summer’s Final Stretch

There’s been plenty to celebrate lately at Provo Community Congregational United Church of Christ. In addition to worship, meetings, and fellowship, our community has been busy making memories—and we’re saying Amen to that! 💙

💍 Love was in the air! Our moderator and one of our council members, Dave & Bret, were married on July 21st on beautiful Coronado Beach, California! We’ve loved celebrating this wonderful new chapter with them. ❤️

🥧 On July 26, we celebrated Pie ‘n’ [Root] B**r Day, gathering for delicious pies, cold root b**r, laughter, and plenty of good company!

🎬 Inconceivable! On August 14, the Sanctuary Cinema Series presented The Princess Bride. The weather moved us from the courtyard into Meno-Trope Hall, but nothing could stop the fun! There was true love, sword fighting, adventure, laughter, popcorn, refreshments—and maybe even a few Rodents of Unusual Size!

🎶 On August 27, the Utah Valley Interfaith Choir gathered for its Meet & Greet, welcoming new and returning friends for another season of music, connection, and community.

🎵🏕️ And fall is starting to feel official! Wasatch Chorale and the Scouts are back after their summer hiatus, bringing even more music, activity, and life back into our church home.

Weddings, pie, movies, music, Scouts, worship, fellowship, and plenty of community life—summer’s final stretch has been full.

Amen to that! 🙌 And stay tuned for a busy fall season ahead! 🍂

💛 Make Room for Grace 💛

Today is National Forgiveness Day—a reminder that forgiveness can be one of the most powerful ways we choose love.

Forgiveness doesn’t erase the past, but it can help us move forward with lighter hearts, deeper compassion, and renewed hope. Sometimes grace looks like offering forgiveness. Sometimes it looks like asking for it. And sometimes it simply means taking one small step toward healing.

May we be people who make room for mercy, second chances, and new beginnings. ✨

“Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” — Luke 6:37

💘 MAYBE WE’RE YOUR PERFECT MATCH! 💘

On National Matchmaker Day, we’re celebrating the possibility of finding the perfect match — even when it comes to finding a church home. ❤️

Provo Community Congregational United Church of Christ might just be the one! We are a faith-based, Open and Affirming congregation where questions are welcome, community matters, and all are truly welcome.

Whether you’re looking for a church home, a place to reconnect with your faith, or simply a welcoming community where you can be yourself, we’d love to meet you.

Maybe we’re your perfect match. 😉

Today at Provo Community Congregational United Church of Christ, Pastor William Davis shared “God of the Unexpected,” reflecting on Psalm 26:1–8 and Matthew 16:21–28. Last week, Peter boldly proclaimed Jesus as the Christ, but today he struggled when Jesus explained that the road ahead would include rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection. Peter wanted a powerful, victorious Messiah—not a suffering Savior—and in many ways, we can relate. We often want glory without the cross, success without struggle, and the good parts of faith without the difficult ones. Jesus reminds us that when we make life only about “me” and “mine,” there will never be enough. Instead, he calls us to let go, take up our cross, and follow him. Following Christ is not about seeking suffering; it is about choosing love, service, humility, and faithfulness, even when the path is not what we expected. God still works in unexpected ways, and one of the most powerful truths of the Gospel remains this: God loves EVERYONE.

Join us next Sunday at 11:00 a.m. as Adrienne Rossetti brings the sermon and Pastor Alex Brown leads us in communion. Come as you are, bring a friend, and join a community seeking to follow Christ through love, compassion, and care for one another. All are welcome!
