We are so close to this year’s workshop!

Let's practice one of the songs that we will be learning this year, Phantom of the Opera!

If you’re already signed up, practice along with me using this video and the provided sheet music. If not, register for workshop to get the sheet music so we can learn it together!

Some things to keep in mind while practicing:
🎵Get into character quickly when you play a melody.
🎵Know the story and theme of the music so you can express its emotion with intention.
🎵Watch your bow placement and stay aware of which string you’re on so things don’t get sloppy.

We’ll keep building your technique in person this summer at the Performance Workshop!

Today Matt and I led the discussion in our congregation on the divinely inspired US Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I am so grateful for the freedoms that these documents protect, especially freedom of religion! Our discussion today reminded me of this video I filmed with different faith leaders as a tribute to religious liberty, and I wanted to reshare it with all of you today. May our freedom to worship according to the dictates of our own conscious continue to be protected, honored and appreciated!

While we were in the UK for Sarah’s recital, we also had the chance to visit some of the amazing sites of Belfast, Ireland. Giants Causeway is one of the most incredible places I have ever been. Other highlights were crossing the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and walking around the ruins of Dunluce Castle. Ireland is absolutely stunning and magical!

I am thrilled to announce that I, alongside Family Four, spirited dancers and the Heritage Youth Choir at American Heritage School, will be performing American Mosaic at the National Mall in Washington, DC, on June 29th!

So grateful Matt and I were able to attend Sarah’s end of year recital (accompanied by Hannah) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) this week. Hannah and Sarah both played brilliantly! I am so proud of our daughters for how hard they have worked to develop and share their talents. Next month Hannah graduates with her Masters Degree from RCS (and she and her husband Raef will be moving back to Utah for Raef to finish his degree). Sarah and her husband Colton will be in Glasgow one more year while Sarah finishes her Bachelors Degree. (Colton is already back in Utah working so he missed this recital but he was able to support Sarah last week when she performed at Wigmore Hall in London). I am so grateful to Raef and Colton for the amazing ways they have supported Hannah and Sarah this past year!
