Title: Cottonwood Giant, in blue
Medium: Photopolymer plate, printed in relief
My focus this year has been preparation for the two featured displays of my art this fall: at the Hutchinson Art Center now through November 7th and at the Terrible Mountain Gallery in Pitkin, CO in September. Preparing was more pressure than I expected. As a break, I’m going to take time to explore new techniques and materials. That said, when the last of the Cottonwood Giant relief prints sold recently, I did get out the plate and printed a few more this week. Most were in the standard black ink, but this one in blue. The image is from a photo I took at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve near Strong City, KS.
I will be at a few markets this year. This weekend I’ll be at the Old Town Farm and Art Market in Wichita with my daughter. We’ll be at the Church of the Magdalen Bazaar on November 7th, also in Wichita. Then on December 5th I’ll be at the Hollis Art Fair at the Hollis Renewal Center to the west of Kansas City, KS.
