A little behind the scenes of my latest 18th century sewing project. ✂️

Today I’m cutting out the bodice pieces for an 18th century gown and one step closer to bringing this design to life. There’s something so satisfying about watching flat fabric slowly become a piece of wearable history.

Today I stopped by Miami Fabrics and scored a 50 yard roll for just $65! Beyond the incredible prices, they have a huge selection if you’re willing to take your time and dig through the bolts. They also host weekend sewing classes through Artisan’s Playhouse, making it a wonderful resource for anyone looking to improve your sewing skills.

I know some of you might notice the sneakers or that I wasn’t wearing a linen cap under my bergère hat. 😊 This trip to St. Augustine was actually very last minute. I had originally planned to visit Colonial Williamsburg, but my plans changed, so I decided to make the trip to St. Augustine instead. I worked with what I had packed, and I was just happy to spend the day surrounded by history.
