Meanwhile, on a modern deployment… 🪖
Constructing an 18th-century Bergère hat from a $1.99 Goodwill bedsheet and an unreasonable amount of determination.

When I started this project, the American Revolution was still fresh gossip.

At this rate, I’ll finish just in time for the 250th anniversary at Colonial Williamsburg. 👑✨😅

Not everyone can afford to travel overseas to attend french court. Wouldn’t it be magical to have a grand event hosted in the states 💁🏻‍♀️

The goal is not to compete, just make events more accessible for all.

Of course for now our events will be pretty modest…

Rome wasn’t built in a day. At least we have 1 loyal supporter so far 😅 We’re gonna need a few more before we start hosting grand events on par with Versailles 🇫🇷 🥂✨

POV

05/17/2026

Still working on finding or possibly making the right kind of stays for this look.

Also discovering that my pocket panniers are already collapsing under the weight of just the top petticoat… and I haven’t even added the under-petticoats yet. 😅

18th-century silhouettes are not for the weak.

Currently staying in a hotel. I am in the military 🪖 🫡 and currently deployed but still keeping up on my hobbies in my free time.

Still unfinished… but the bergère is finally beginning to look like the vision in my head 🥹✨
After an all-night millinery emergency, she lives.

05/09/2026

POV: it’s 6:34 AM and the bergère hat has consumed your entire personality. Running entirely on caffeine, ribbon, and historical delusion while the millinery department declares a state of emergency 🤣

Court Rosettes Society™ may be my vision…
but somehow this becomes his workplace.

It starts with “can you take a quick picture?”
and slowly turns into pins, portraits, and full-time 18th-century logistics.

He thinks he’s getting a girlfriend…
but ends up owning breeches and a powdered wig. 🤣

Though many have likely seen Blueskin portrayed on canvas,
he may not have been the horse most often called upon in war.

His striking coat made him the favored subject of the paintbrush…

But it was the horse Nelson who was remembered as Washington’s trusted war mount
valued for his calm, steady composure under cannon and musket fire.
