It sounds almost too simple:
Two actors. One observation. Repeated back and forth.

But Meisner's Repetition Exercise is one of the most disarming things you'll ever do as an actor because it strips away every defense you have and forces you to actually listen.

Not just listen so you know when to say your line.

Really listen. The kind that changes how you perform and how you move through the world.

This is where all Meisner training at Actors Bridge begins. Module 1. October 5.

Five weeks. Once a week with a scene partner. And something will shift in you.

Most actors are trained to perform emotions.
Meisner trained actors to live them.

Sanford Meisner spent 50 years at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York developing one of the most powerful actor training systems in history. His students include Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Philip Seymour Hoffman, James Gandolfini, and Chadwick Boseman.

His core principle: "To live truthfully under imaginary circumstances."

At Actors Bridge, we've trained over 7,000 Nashville actors in this technique - brick by brick, the way it was meant to be taught.

Module 1 starts October 5. This is your foundation.

You've been thinking about it.
Maybe for months. Maybe longer.
"I want to deepen my training." "I want to stop performing and start living in a scene."

Here's the thing: every class that starts without you is a cohort of actors getting that thing you've been putting off.

🎭 Meisner Foundation Module 1 begins October 5 at Actors Bridge.
Five weeks. The Repetition Exercise. The beginning of everything.

The only thing between you and the work is registration.

"It was funny, moving, and brutal. Well done and again thank you for bringing to light the authentic dilemmas/questions that can arise in marriages. We all need the reminders as we strive to remain connected in this digital age."

"Each of the actors really put their whole self into the characters."

"My friends and I are talking about it too. Still. On the sidewalk outside of the Darkhorse and today in text messages. Very impressive. The cast members were superb. Thank you for a thoughtful entertaining evening."
