It was an awesome evening of inspiration on Wednesday at the Writer's Gym! Co-presented by the Free Nashville Poetry Library, three young songwriter alumni from YEAH! led a group of budding writers in exercises in the art of lyric writing. There was gibberish, laughter, and silliness as well as lots of creativity!

87% of YEAH! program participants in the past fiscal year reported feeling more confident making music after being involved in a program, up from 41% at the start - and we believe community collaborations and programs like Writer's Gym help make that happen!

Taking a trip down memory lane! 🎸✨

We recently visited the Center for Popular Music at MTSU to check out the YEAH! archives housed in their collection. A huge thank you to the team at the Center for hosting us, letting us peek at their latest acquisitions, and helping us reflect on where we’ve been as an organization.

Hard to believe, but YEAH! has been a nonprofit for 20 years now! While we’ve grown and evolved over the last two decades, our core hasn’t changed a bit - we are still driven by the punk rock spirit of collaboration, DIY energy, and creating safe, welcoming spaces for young people to express themselves freely. 🤘💥

Shoutout to everyone who packed the room at yesterday’s YEAH! Youth Open Mic ! 6 young artists took the stage and delivered 11 wildly creative songs that ranged from shredding guitars to gorgeous vocals to delightfully chaotic noise. Our MC Kyu kept the energy flowing with thoughtful questions highlighting each performer’s inspirations and stories. The talent in the room was electric!

Come hang with us every third Sunday and witness the dedication of Nashville’s young musicians while supporting a space that uplifts both young people and cats -- only at the YEAH! Youth Open Mic!

This Sunday: be inspired by the creativity of Nashville's youth - and find your bravery to share your own voice!

Every third Sunday of the month YEAH! showcases young performers at Crossroads Cat Cafe. Enjoy a drink or snack in the cafe, visit with the cats, and support youth empowerment while enjoying original music and spoken word from local young artists.

This event is free to attend and participate! All cafe purchases support Crossroads' mission to deliver job training in pet-related careers, income-based housing, and intensive support services for young adults facing barriers to housing and employment, and adopt unwanted dogs and cats into "forever homes".
