Tomorrow Fall Session 1 art classes start The Art Forge of Franklin Grab your spot today! Session 1 spots will close this evening. Can’t wait to see many of my artists tomorrow!
Session 2 will start in October. I’m looking forward to an exciting fall of creating with so many amazing artists!

My absolute favorite project from camp this summer and I didn’t get nearly enough pics of the final pieces of the kids’ art! These are 18”x24” mixed media on watercolor paper and I hope they are all in frames somewhere because they are stunning. We had so much fun adding layer upon layer upon layer. I’ve thought a lot recently about offering some of these lessons online. This would be a fun one for kids and adults. Any interest in online lesson plans?

If I was headed back to school today and had to write an essay about what I did this summer, this would definitely be a highlight!! 🤣 Eeekkk! I got to see this beauty installed this summer. This dear family has become framily to us over the years and I’m not sure we could enjoy them more. I’m also not entirely sure how long ago it was that their, (practically perfect in every way) kids painted this painting, but it’s been a minute. Life and schedules and general craziness, but this very large piece of art is now home at the beach! C and I were graciously invited to spend a few extra days this summer with our friends at their home. Not only was the respite a blessing, but getting to walk past this piece, that lived in the art barn for so long, was also pure magic.
I spend a lot of time envisioning your spaces, learning your styles, and enjoying you and your kids’ personalities, so having a moment where I see a piece that just feels like it was always meant to be there just warms my heart. Extra, extra bonus points that the kids who made it are some of my all time favorite humans! Forever grateful for the gift that is all of you sweet family!

It’s almost time for back to school for my adults too! Carve out some time for yourself this school year! You’ve earned it!

We have a 6 week watercolor session starting Monday, August 17th 10:30-12:30. Link in profile and stories. Can’t make all 6 classes? No worries. I’ve had a few people ask that question. We will get you caught up if you need to miss one.

I’ve also had several people ask me if watercolor is harder than acrylics. I think it is…but never fear…I’ll walk you through all of it! My goal is always for art to be an escape not a stress. Invest in yourself and come create with me this new fall session!

Some serious artists with a splash of silly too of course. You are definitely going to want to tune in tomorrow to see the finished pieces of these oh so super talented tweens and teens at our mini camp. I think this camp is going to have to be added on repeat for next summer. Should we make it a full art camp week?

It was so much fun watching these older kids embracing the process. I also may have converted a few new Prismacolor colored pencil fans to the crew. (We may or may not…ok we actually did find a Crayola colored pencil in the box and threw it away. I fully stand by this decision. 🤣) I’m sorry in advance parents when they come home asking for the Prismacolor colored pencils. For that it’s worth they are worth every penny!
