A: The Tennessee Musicians Map is an original art print representing the notable musicians born in Tennessee, and their hometowns. Q: What is an original art print? A: The Tennessee Musicians Map is created by two zinc etching plates which have been inked, and run through a rolling press with a damp piece of paper to catch the transfer. The final product is an 18 x 22 map. Each plate was hand etched in a technique called dry point. The inking and printing process is done in a technique similar to the intaglio style found in traditional printmaking. Q: My cousin Ray Bob played bass in The Warlock's Beard. They were HUGE in Clarksville in the 70's. How come they ain't on the dagburned map? A: I'd love to check out The Warlock's Beard. Do they have a website or any recordings available? Also, the musicians listed on the Tennessee Musicians Map were all born in Tennessee, and have all achieved notable influence, relevance, and awarded successes in music. Q: Why do you have hardcore gangsta rap next to hillbilly jugband musicans? A: Music is subjective based on each listeners personal experience. One persons favorite artist might be another persons least favorite. The fact that so many musical genres, and unique styles of creative musical expression have originated in the same state is remarkable.
