Our Valentine's Day Bash is coming up on February 12th! Meet one of our writers, Lance Carpenter....

Nashville recording artist and professional songwriter Lance Carpenter pens hits of contemporary country radio, while still staying true to his traditional background. Lance recently celebrated his first #1 by co-writing Kelsea Ballerini's history making song "Love Me Like You Mean It." Growing up on a farm in Ozark, Arkansas, Lance taught himself how to play guitar while attending Arkansas Tech University where he was a member of the 1999 Conference Championship Wonderboy football team. The footballer turned lyricist moved to Nashville, TN in 2011 and in 18 short months signed his first publishing deal and secured 2 major cuts. Lance, however, remains true to his laid-back country boy persona and has continued to astound with the work ethic and humbleness that determined his early successes. He says, “The more success I have in this business the more significant I can be in the lives of others.” He released his debut self titled debut album “Lance Carpenter” in 2013 and has performed with Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Justin Moore, Randy Rogers Band and more. La=nce currently writes for Parallel Music Publishing and plans to continue writing music that inspires, memorializes and captures his own zest for life.

Lance loves traveling, hunting, Jack Daniels, having bbq's, playing basketball, Ford trucks, camp fires, Panhandle Slim pearl snap shirts, and can't turn down a good game of co****le! He's also afraid of spiders...but don't tell him we told you.....

Our Valentine's Day Bash is coming up on February 12th! Meet one of our writers, Kat Higgins....

Growing up with seven kids in the house and an Irish father, Kat Higgins remembers singing songs like “Fields of Athenry” and “Danny Boy” with her siblings at a very young age. She bought her first guitar at 14 and began songwriting for the family band. After signing a record deal and earning top 10 songs at Canadian country radio, some of the siblings lost interest in being in a band.

Kat had written most of the bands material and always loved the craft of songwriting. She made the one-way trip to Nashville and never looked back. “Music is the true constant in my life,” says Kat, “the only relationship I’ve known how to maintain.”

Since signing her first publishing deal, she has had several of her songs recorded by other artists including most recently, Carrie Underwood. The new album “Storyteller” includes a song cowritten by Kat called “Mexico.”

Kats influences include, The Dixie Chicks, Joni Mitchell and Emmylou Harris. While many things have changed in the last few years, her motivation has stayed the same. “It’s a simple goal, whether through a lyric, a melody or a performance, I just want to make people feel deeply.”

Our Valentine's Day Bash is coming up on February 12th! Meet our host, Colm Kirwan.... Hailing from the small Northern Ireland town of Omagh, Colm Kirwan wasn’t sure exactly what to expect when he moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2009. He only had two goals in mind—creating his own unique sound as an artist and becoming a great songwriter. With the release of his self-titled debut, he will be one album closer to accomplishing those goals.

For Colm, the road to Nashville and the creation of the album, a contemporary country collection with a Celtic flair, was filled with twists and turns. At 18, he left his small hometown for London, where he studied musical theatre performance for three years before hitting the road as an apostle in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar. The rock opera gave him a taste for the stage that only grew when he left the production to tour with his dad, hit recording artist Dominic Kirwan, on a seven-week tour.

“I remember the first time I ever stood on stage with my dad to a sold-out theatre in Belfast,” Colm says. “To me, that’s where I belong. It just felt right—it always has. If there’s one place I’m totally comfortable, it’s on stage.”

The tour was his chance to finally perform the type of music he grew up loving—country. After three years of touring with his dad, Colm came to Nashville at the suggestion of a friend who had spotted his raw talent for songwriting. Ever since, he has honed his uncanny sound and songwriting ability, culminating in the creation of his first album, produced by Victoria Shaw. It will be released on April 19 in the U.K. and Ireland while he tours with country legend Don Williams. The U.S. release was shortly thereafter.

“I don’t want to be an artist that’s big just in America,” he says. “I want to be an artist who tours worldwide. There’s such a big world out there that loves a lot of this music.” For tickets, https://squareup.com/market/cathedral-players
