🤔 What Is Aerial Lyra (Hoop)?

⭕️ Lyra, or the hoop, is a steel circle suspended from a single point. In class, we practice moves both below, inside, and above the hoop, as well as in the span set that connects the hoop to the rigging. Unlike fabric, the hoop doesn't mold to the body, so students must learn to move around it. Various mounts, dismounts, and shapes can be created within the hoop, using fluid transitions and connecting movements to form beautiful sequences.
