Our offices are closed today in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed – two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Today is an opportunity for all of us to continue uplifting and celebrating Black excellence and achievement.

🎉 Promotion Announcement 🎉

We’re delighted to share the promotion of Gwyneth Smith to Company Artist!

Gwyneth’s favorite role she danced this past season was Tall Girl in George Balanchine’s Rubies! Having first trained at the School of Nashville Ballet, she joined NB2 in 2024, advanced to Company Apprentice in 2025, and now takes the next step in her career as a Company Artist. When Gwyneth is not dancing, she enjoys modeling, hot yoga, pilates, and spending time with friends and family.

🎉 Promotion Announcement 🎉

We’re excited to announce that Summer Montenegro has been promoted to Company Artist!

Summer’s favorite roles she danced last season were her solo in If I Can Dream and one of the Leading Swans in Paul Vasterling's Swan Lake. She began her journey with Nashville Ballet in 2023 as a member of NB2 and was promoted to Company Apprentice in 2025. She now takes the next step as a Company Artist. When Summer is not dancing she enjoys baking, spending time with her family and friends, choreographing, and teaching.

Join us in congratulating Joe Parker on his promotion to Company Artist!

Joe's favorite performances this past season were his roles in Un Ballo and Lumina! He joined Nashville Ballet as a Company Apprentice in 2025 and now steps into his new role as a Company Artist. When he is not dancing, Joe enjoys playing the guitar, songwriting, and drawing.

Please join us in celebrating the promotion of Nicholas Mihlar to Company Artist!

Nicholas’s favorite role he danced last season was the Spanish Dance in Nashville’s Nutcracker! Nicholas joined Nashville Ballet in 2025 as a Company Apprentice and has now advanced to Company Artist. When he is not in the studio, he enjoys playing volleyball and skim boarding.

We are thrilled to share that Summer Brown has been promoted to Company Artist!

This past season, Summer's favorite pieces to perform were Lumina and Rubies! She joined Nashville Ballet in 2023 as a member of NB2, was promoted to Company Apprentice in 2025, and she now steps into her role as a Company Artist. Outside the studio, Summer enjoys drawing, baking, crocheting, and going on walks.
