This February, Clay Riley Hassler and Tiffany Hassler, with the great support of Home Church, are launching a pop-up cinema in the heart of East Nashville.

Every Thursday at 7pm, from Feb. 3 to Mar. 3, we will be screening a remarkable film FREE TO THE COMMUNITY. That’s right. FREE.

In addition to each screening, Clay Hassler will be joined by a special guest for a Q&A to discuss the film and its implications and impact on issues ranging from poverty to healthcare to civil rights and beyond.

This first batch of films has been very carefully and thoughtfully curated. Our purpose is to bring people together, to inhabit these stories and let them sink into our bones in the hope that they change our perception of the world, of ourselves, and most importantly, of our neighbor.

A huge thanks to our friend, Jason McAnally, for his shared vision and to Home Church for providing a venue for these screenings.

Like our page at Church Cinema for updates and content and please join us every Thursday this February (and March 3) at 7pm as we present…

February 3 — Bicycle Thieves, directed by Vittorio De Seca
February 10 — I, Daniel Blake, directed by Ken Loach
February 17 — Killer of Sheep, directed by Charles Burnett
February 24 — Two Days, One Night, directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne
March 3 — Bright Star, directed by Jane Campion

HOMELESS screens in just 2 short hours!

HOMELESS is a narrative feature film written and created by a group of friends and shot over the span of 25 days. Working on a shoe string budget, the cast and crew shot across the city of Winston-Salem, NC, including two days at Randolph County Correctional Center in Asheboro, NC. The team spent a week at the Samaritan Inn homeless shelter, working and filming alongside the staff and residents as blocking had to done in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a shelter working at full capacity in the cold winter months. This film would not be possible without the love and support from our families, friends and the community of Winston-Salem.

We've had a great start to 2016! We have had the opportunity in the past several months to work with some incredible people on a lot of fun projects. Wet Paint, has been based out of Nashville, Tennessee for a little over a year now and it's been a wild ride. In between our festival travels, with Homeless Film, we're working very hard to finish the feature documentary we filmed in St. Louis last year (you'll see a few clips from the film below!) as well as continuing to form strong partnerships and friendships with other creatives. Check out some of our most recent work and enjoy! - Clay Riley Hassler & Tiffany Hassler
