"As people increasingly use AI to create music, images, writing, and other creative works, how should we think about authenticity, originality, and meaning in the arts? Through the lens of philosophy and cultural theory, this talk explores both the creative potential and cultural consequences of artistic creation in an age shaped by generative technology."
Rod Taylor, Ph.D., is a philosopher, educator, musician, and public speaker whose work explores creativity, communication, technology, and culture. He has taught at Stanford University, Indiana University, Tennessee State University, and in the commercial music program at Lipscomb University. A lifelong bassist, he has performed with a variety of artists, including Victor Wooten, the Warren Brothers, and Cindy Morgan. Drawing on philosophy, music, and cultural theory, his work examines authenticity, performance, media, and human expression in an increasingly technological world.
