Thinking about doing a drum skillshare and jam gathering here pretty soon. That sound interesting to anyone? I was thinking next Thursday evening at The Goddess and the Moon. Get some folks together, some snacks and such, and lay down some grooves! Anyone in?

Just did a lesson with a Nashville percussionist fellow. It was a Christmas present to himself, and it was fun. We went over basic sound techniques and the body mechanics involved, talked about tone and phrasing, and a played few doumbek rhythms. We jammed a bit together, and talked over some of the more involved techniques. Talented dude, picked up the rhythms, and quickly understood what he would need to drill to pick up the techniques. I hope he got the inspiration he came for, but I know he left with a good cache of information.
