I cried through the entire process of writing this song…

It was one of those songs that literally fell out of me once it started.

I felt like the son of my friend was sitting next to me as I wrote it, looking over my shoulder as the ink poured out of my pen. Actually, I’ve had several close friends who’ve gone through the unimaginable. And while, this song is for anyone who has lost someone, I wrote it with these particular friends in mind.

I sat with a musical hook (the opening bells) for weeks, when it finally dawned on me that I wanted to go much bigger with it. After all, it’s a celebration of Jesus being born!!
