It’s almost time for STEAM Night at the Parthenon! 🔬✨

This Thursday, 9/17 from 4:30–6:30 PM, MNPS students, staff and faculty, along with their entire families, can enjoy FREE admission to the Parthenon for a night of special activities! This month's theme is Space Explorers and our friends from Vanderbilt’s Dyer Observatory will be joining us!

Take a closer look at the Parthenon’s architectural details and explore the techniques and history behind the ancient temple.

Travel back to the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition and discover the places and stories that shaped the Park.

Thanks for talking about The Odyssey with us, NewsChannel 5 Nashville!

For the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition, Nashville decided to build a Parthenon. It was a temporary structure meant to last six months. It instead lasted over 20 years. A new Parthenon was then built-to-last.

🎥 Explore race, mythology, and the ancient world through the lens of The Odyssey.

Join us on Monday, July 28, for a free virtual symposium with classicist Dr. Jackie Murray, who will explore race in Homer's The Odyssey through the lens of Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation and the ancient epic itself.

Drawing from her forthcoming book, The Race of Heroes in Ancient Greek Epic, Dr. Murray will explore how ancient ideas about identity differed from modern concepts of race and challenge common misconceptions about who belongs in Greek mythology.

This free virtual symposium is open to the public with RSVP.
