VIDA: Vanderbilt Latin Dance Group

A dance group committed to choreographing, performing, and teaching various styles of Latin dance!

VIDA is Vanderbilt’s Premier Latin Dance group and is one of the few cultural performing arts organizations on Vanderbilt’s campus. VIDA’s priority is to perform, share, and teach various styles of dance while allowing students to explore a new culture. VIDA performs at various events throughout the year, either as a guest or for its own events. Dancing With The 'Dores (DWTD) is Vida's main event

and takes place in the fall. At DWTD, Vida randomly pairs members of different student organizations and VIDA members choreograph dances for these pairs. Vida also hosts a spring clinic, usually known as Bachata Bash, where members will teach a style of dance alongside choreography. VIDA also plays an integral role in ALAS’s annual showcase Café con Leche as well as integrating into the local Nashville social dancing scene. VIDA prioritizes accessibility for our members, education, and fun above all else in our performances, choreography, and clinics so that anyone’s experience with Latin dance will be one to remember.

Hello everyone! For spring semester, VIDA is hosting a salsa clinic and a chance to audition to join the org.

Clinic is a great opportunity to learn or practice your salsa! We will be starting from the very beginning and no experience is necessary or expected.

If you’re thinking about auditioning, here’s some key info:
- Your audition will not last all three hours—you’ll sign up for a time slot.
- You’ll perform choreography that we teach at the clinic!
- As a VIDA member, you’ll get multiple chances to perform this semester, a confidence boost, and a super fun environment full of also really fun people.

We hope to see you this Saturday (1-4pm) and Sunday (11-2pm) in the EBI Residential College studios (in the back corner of EBI that is closest to Kissam and West End) for a really low-stress salsa lesson and optional VIDA audition!
