In February 2016, improvisers Luke Watson (Founder/Artistic Director of LOL Nashville) and Scott Field (Co-founder of Improv Nashville/Artistic Director of Music City Improv), concluded their year-long search for a permanent space to serve as the epicenter for local comedy. They partnered to open a comedy club that serves all comedic art forms: sketch, improv, stand-up, comedic plays, etc. The Thi

rd Coast Comedy Club took over the former Imogene and Willie production space at 1310 Clinton Street in Marathon Village, a breeding ground for creatives. The theater serves as an outlet for the wealth of comedic talent in Nashville. The bar serves as a place of community for locals and comics throughout the week. Alongside the nightly programming and weekend Main Stage shows, the club includes a training center, offering courses ranging from improvisation to sketch to stand-up for locals and tourists alike.

The Third Coast Storytelling Hour kicks off with Andrea Ley: Mainstage cast, Training Center alum, and Nashville icon (in some circles).

Third Coast Comedy Club is now programming in seasons, and submissions are opening for the inaugural season in our brand-new East Nashville home!✨

📍Season One runs September 1 – November 30, 2026

We’re looking for all kinds of comedy:
improv, stand-up, sketch, musical comedy, variety, burlesque, clown, experimental work, and everything in between.

An original Third Coast Comedy Show cast member and a woman who has done improv at literally 37 weeks pregnant.

Margaret is stepping down from MainStage after a decade of shows, sketches, workshops, solo performances, and making audiences laugh on a weekly basis.

She’s off to focus on family and new adventures, but don’t worry, she’s not gone forever. Third Coast is in her DNA at this point.

Come send her off the only way we know how: with huge laughs, big hugs, and probably at least one person crying in the bar afterward.
