This week we welcomed our Class of 2026 Pearl Interns! Jessica Weinberg is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication Studies from Florida State University. She also manages the FSU Percussion Studio social media accounts. Koa Fujimoto studies at The University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Management Information Systems. Koa was previously section leader with The Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, and is currently on staff at Liberty Hill HS and Vista Ridge HS Marching Bands based in Texas.

Ethan Strickland is an educator, performer, and collaborator serving as the Adjunct Assistant Professor of Percussion at Virginia State University. He holds a DMA from Michigan State University, MM from the University of Kansas, and a BM from Reinhardt University. Ethanโ€™s previous teachers include Gwendolyn Dease, Jon Weber, Kevin Jones, Sam Um, Olivia Kieffer, and Nathaniel Lee.

Outside of his role as a collegiate professor, Ethan serves in several other positions as the Assistant Production Manager of the Yellow Barn Summer Music Festival, a member of the Percussive Arts Societyโ€™s Education Committee, as an advisory board member for the International Foundation for Contemporary Music.
