Catherine Apthorp is new to Artclectic this year, and she'll be with us at USN October 22–24. A USN parent three times over ('29, '31, '34), Catherine layers acrylic, charcoal, ink and watercolor into abstract and figurative work. "Art is play," she says. "It is the tension of a line, the composition or splash of color that creates a story." She hopes viewers "taste a tiny moment of a life worth living." We're welcoming Ginny Worsley back to Artclectic at USN, October 22–24. Ginny paints nostalgic, cozy interiors and dollhouses in acrylic, full of color and pattern, with the image continuing around the sides of the canvas. "These spaces are the backdrop to our ordinary, everyday life and our own personal stories." Her advice to young artists is generous and true: "Create every day, make lots of bad art, and your style will emerge over time." Check out at Artclectic on October 22-24.

Christina Habibi is new to Artclectic this year and joins us at USN October 22–24. Nearly thirty years in, Christina builds paintings from acrylic, oil, graphite and text through layering, gesture and revision. It began abruptly: "I woke up one morning with an overwhelming urge to paint." Her advice to new artists follows the same formula. "Make art for yourself, first and foremost." And what she wants from you: "I want people to be curious." We welcome to Artclectic for the first time on October 22-24.

We're welcoming Jernicya Onyekwelu back to Artclectic at USN, October 22–24. Her Brown Women Collection builds fashion figures as abstract black-and-white silhouettes, fully collaged and layered in paper like paper dolls. She grew up watching Project Runway and drawing fashion illustrations after school every day. She wants viewers to feel "inspired and liberated," and her advice to young artists is a line worth keeping: "Do not let your own thoughts limit your greatness." We welcome Alicia Dalee to Artclectic for the first time on October 22-24. “Through the use of color, shapes, and movement, she creates balance and quiet enthusiasm in her work. A vibrant minimalist or subtle maximalist at heart, her pieces embody a playful refinement.” She hopes that the pieces she creates “bring a sense of energy, warmth and equilibrium into everyday life.” Make sure to see at Artclectic on October 22-24.
