INTRODUCING: “Bodega That Only Sells Things Starting with the Letter P”, a conceptual tile design for Part 2 of our Powell HQ surface design collaboration. .vance wanted to create something special for the front of the kitchen/bar area and entrance to the hallway. We liked that it looked like a storefront with window service so we ran with that idea and made it tongue-in-cheek by creating illustrations of objects that start with P to glaze onto the tile. Making this list of P-word options with Powell was probably the most fun part! As ever, we called upon the great to help us realize this idea. They helped us with the glaze transfers for the illustrations and custom matched a glaze to the Powell peach brand color. We finished out the palette by calling upon that rich glossy burgundy tile as a compliment with accents of the Wasabi green stripe and our favorite detail, the vermillion pencil corner tile to border the openings of the “storefront”. We love this blend of classic but slightly strange.
